THERE are two unforgettable experience while visiting Mount Kerinci in Jambi, which is climbing and exploring the Seven Lakes Mountain Waterfall Pendung. It took me two trips into the surreal nature that sweep over.
Seven Lakes Mountain is above the altitude of 1950 meters above sea level (asl), was recorded as the highest volcanic lake in Southeast Asia. Being in the area of Kerinci Seblat National Park (TNKS), the lake is reached by climbing from the Post Mountain Resort Seven, Coastal Village Hill, District Seven Mountains, Kerinci regency. Postage itself is about an 50-kilometer (km) from the River Full, downtown in the Kerinci regency.
Me and some friends started to climb from the Post Mount Seven around 10:00 early last May, accompanied by Giyono (37), forest supervisor of TNKS. Until the beginning of one to two kilometers, the road is sloping. Forests on both sides of the road a lot encroached into the wild garden.
Growing up, the more difficult journey. Moreover, we did choose the path that climbed closer to the lake, with a slope reaching about 50 to 70 degrees. The trail was too slippery clay.
We have slipped into the cracks foot tree roots clinging to the stalks crosswise. Before long, deep breath and struggling right knee soreness. We would often stop to rest.
Although tired, we enjoy all things in the natural forests that. Large trees and high-approximately 20-meter-standing stout. Giyono mentioned that tree species, such as Pauh, Medang, delam, or dew. There are also a variety of orchids with a strange interest.
The atmosphere grew solemn when the sound of chirping birds. There are doves, hornbills, Karau, brother sparrow, magpie stone, or starlings. Sometimes, birds flashed in front of the eye. Occasional audible murmur of the river that flows beneath.
Lake
After three hours of travel, at around 13:00, we finally arrived at Lake Mount Seven. Heart seemed to melt when presented with seductive scenery. The struggle to climb as had been directly paid already. A lake, covering approximately 4.5 km x 3 km, lying in the middle clamp seven mountain peaks. Lake water was so clear. Rocks and roots on the bottom as in a glass aquarium. Then the wind blew, the air was fresh.
From the tops of the mountain mist bath appear white wadding, which then slowly down and landed on the surface of the lake. The lake was like uniting the underworld and the world over. Indeed, the landscape is like a surrealist painting up from dreamland.
Then, the dream was broken by a small figure of boating fishing boat. With rowing, he drove slowly from the middle of the lake to the shore. Sabran (32), so his name, handed over to us as small fish, dry kegosongan.
“This tender fish, native of the lake. ‘ve Smoked, so ready to be eaten, “he said.
We bought a little fish. While sitting on large rocks, we ate it with rice or bread supplies. While our mouths to chew a tasty-crispy fish, our eyes devouring the natural loveliness.
“The lake is still beautiful. Maybe because access is difficult here, so only the nature lovers who would bother to visit, “said Giyono.
Unfortunately, the pleasure gradually subsided. As more and more in the afternoon, the drizzle began to perk. The mountains and the lake was veiled by clouds. We decided to go home.
Pendung
The next day, we accidentally visited the village of Waterfall Pendung Semurup, Warm Water District, Kerinci. Its location on the left side in the middle of the highway between the city into the River Fully tea garden at Kayu Aro. This includes objects that have not been so popular that tourists rarely encroached.
To go into the waterfall, visitors must be along the gardens, forests, and crossing several rivers. Lucky, we were escorted entourage several students who were on vacation.
Among the rivers trajectory, we trace the path of muddy clay, slipped behind the trees, shrubs or brushed grove. Sometimes, we must remove the slippers or shoes for easy walking.
The line was still barely passable for only occasional use. “Crowds of people around here,” said Ziki (13), one of our introduction.
About an hours drive, at the end of Pendung River, we were surprised by an unexpected sight. A canyon or slope towering above the rivers. From the canyon, the water appears bertumpahan in large and small granules.
The waterfall is flanked by stone walls and filled with curves berlekak-moss, shrubs, or suplir. A ray of sun from the top of the gorge was breaking into the abyss to penetrate the clear river water. Alloys between the canyon, waterfalls, rivers, and a breakthrough was to create an atmosphere of sunlight dramatically.
Suddenly the rain. “If this rain, we had to hurry back because the river can suddenly tide,” said Refo (12), one group of children. We were forced to move home.
Kerinci region, which sits on the border between Jambi and West Sumatra, it offers plenty of natural charm. Mountain Lake Waterfall Pendung Seven and includes a deep impress. Despite returning to Jakarta, the experience of visiting the two places that we hold as a beautiful dream that we are reluctant to release.
