VILLAGE Arborek is a pioneer among 18 picturesque village in West Papua which has begun to develop local regulations for community-based marine conservation. This makes it one of the major tourist sites with a snorkeling paradise in West Papua Arborek villages have gained an outstanding reputation among local authorities and the international community so as to find the beauty beneath the water is not so difficult here.
Along the quay Arborek, you can dive into the water and instantly find the most interesting insights from the gorgonian fan sparkling beneath the surface. Besides the beauty beneath the sea, the village famous for its handicrafts Arborek tour hat and noken (purse strings). Unlike most women in other villages who helped her husband as a fisherman, almost all mothers in this village produce handicrafts for a living.
People Arborek very diligent to make great crafts from pandan leaves the sea. This activity is usually done every day. The mothers felt Arborek make crafts more honorable and more elegant for women.
Other fun activities you can do is catch of sea cucumbers. When the water receded, the wives of the fishermen are doing bameti. Bameti in the local language is the term used for hunting sea cucumber and combing the beach to look for other sea creatures to eat.
Arborek tourist village was not too broad in terms of size. The ground covers an area of about seven hectares in size, so it will not take up much time and energy to travel around the village.
To reach the village which is located in the tourist Arborek Meos Mansar, Raja Ampat, West Papua’s easier to start the trip from Sorong.
There are several airlines serving the route in Jakarta to Sorong. Whereas for sea transportation, ship heading to the port of Sorong is Dorolonda, Labobar, Mount Dempo, Sinabung, and Tatamailau.
From Sorong, you can use a motor boat from the port of Sorong to Waisai fishery. From Waisai, the trip was followed by a long boat for less than two hours.
There are two alternative travel between Sorong and Waisai. First, you can use a speedboat for two hours or use a boat of local government which takes five hours and go directly to Arborek, without stopping at Waisai
