Hawkshead Esthwaite Water is situated in the north which is one of the lakes are known for smaller and lower in Nasionan Park Lake District, North of England. The village is also part of Furness which makes it a part of the ancient Lancashire area but remain in the administrative district Cumbria.

Meanwhile, the parish includes the village of Hawkshead Hill Hawkshead (2 km west of the Sea) and Outgate (North 1.5). Regional Sawrey, Outgate, Satterthwaite, Grizedale and Hawkshead Hill is also easily accessible from the village.

Hawkshead village was originally owned by monks from Furness Abbey. Hawkshead grown into an important wool market in medieval and later as a market town after the Dissolution of Monasteries in 1532. During the 18th and 19th centuries, Hawkshead also become an important village.

After the opening of the National Park in 1951, tourism grew rapidly in the village, although there is still the traditional farming around the village.
