ALTHOUGH Thailand are volatile, but if one day you’re on holiday here do not miss a visit to Wat Rong Khun, a Buddhist and Hindu temples that are different from other temples in the country this white elephant. Wat Rong Khun in Chiang Rai, the temple is not conventional, but has a contemporary touch. The temple was designed by Chalermchai Kositpipat whose construction began in 1997.
The first time you see, you must be thinking if Wat Rong Khun temple is extraordinary. The temple is also different from other temples in Thailand, because all-white design that surrounds the entire building with some use of glass. Use white color for the exterior surface of the temple has a particular purpose. The white color is believed to symbolize purity, while white glass symbolizes the Buddhist wisdom of Buddha who shines brightly in all the earth and the universe.
Being in the temple complex, you’ll pass a bridge that represents the cycle of birth to return to the residence of the Buddha. Half a small circle that existed before the bridge is denoted as the human world while a large circle with a canine is Rahu’s mouth, a representation of hell or suffering.
